Czechs drink the most beer per capita in the world (157,9 liters per Czech per year) and are 17th in the production league table.

Czechs still prefer domestic beer brands. Stella Artois is the only one with any degree of penetration (but still minimal).

Czech wine, which historically had excellent reputation, has not been seen outside the country much since 1950s. Some of the popular labels drunk by Czechs are Frankovka, Veltlínské or Muller Thurgau. International wines are also increasing in popularity, though.

Czechs have never been hard liquor drinkers. The most common drinks traditionally are: Tuzemák (Czech version of Rum recently renamed due to EU regulations), Fernet and Becherovka (two herbal liqueurs) and zelená (green colored drink). The Moravian (who are also more significant wine drinkers and producers) also drink Slivovice (pumb brandy).

It is of note, that the article does not mention this last fact. In fact, no distinction is made between Czech (Bohemian) and Moravian drinking habits.
