CSSD says Klaus's government was catastrophe for Czech Republic
The ruling Social Democrats (CSSD) presented an advertisement to journalists today according to which the Civic Democrats' (ODS) government in the past had pushed the country to a complete moral and economic decline in the past. The CSSD leaders were thus reacting to the latest election move by the senior opposition ODS that presented its Black Book of CSSD's Sins at the beginning of this week.
It is interesting how long the left-of-center government stayed in power despite the general suspicion of 'socialism' in the Czech Republic. It is, of course, also important to add that unlike Poland and Hungary, the Czech socialists do not have a direct link to the old 'communist party' but rather to the pre-1948 Social Democrats.
