A fun Czech language blog posted some hillarious examples of what happens when you translate (or in some cases seriously mis-translate) some Czech idioms literally.

Here are some examples of multi-word idioms:

* all the hydrogen probably made love in the solution = veškerý vodík se asimiloval v roztoku (all hydrogen dissolved in the solution)
* he vomitted a long postcard on her = vrhl na ni dlouhý pohled (he cast a long glance at her)
* I am not smelling myself in my leather today = necítím se dnes ve své kůži (I'm feeling out of sorts - lit. not in my skin)
* stop knitting my head = přestaň mi plést hlavu (stop messing with my head)

or some one-word ones

* half-blame = polovina (half)
* overgossip = překlep (typo)
* simplegreekness = prostořekost (outspokenness)

Could you give idiomatic English translations of these Czech idioms?

Interesting!!!
