Every third Czech has given a bribe - poll in press
Three percent of respondents gave a bribe frequently, another 19 percent occasionally and 14 percent once, according to the poll.

Sixty-four percent of the polled said they had never given a bribe. One fifth of the respondents said they had been a bribery target. Seventy-nine percent of people said they had never been offered a bribe.

The Czech Republic shared 47th to 50th position with Greece, Slovakia and Namibia in a Transparency International (TI) table of corruption perception.

This, of course, depends very much on the definition of bribe (which the article doesn't give).

According to another TI statistics, corruption is only bigger in Cameroon, Ghana, Togo and Paraguay, for instance, MfD writes.

These international comparisons are an interesting exercise in national identity (otherwise they mean almost nothing). This is reminiscent of the recent uproar in the US about their sliding position in the spread of broadband.
