The Czech Republic imports more arms than it exports, Industry and Trade Minister Milan Urban told journalists today after the discussion of a regular report on arms exports by the cabinet.

The Czech Republic used to rank among top arms exporters, Urban said, adding that there was no reason why the country could not return to this while respecting all international agreements.

Czech Republic is known for many things - but one of its often forgotten (or underreported) - claims to fame is its arms manufacturing. It has been in decline recently so it is perhaps unfortunate that we are trying to revive it.
