The most frequent make among old Czech cars is Skoda 120 with 229,891 registered units, followed by Skoda 105 with 159,959 units and Skoda Favorit 135 with 131,711 units.Among foreign makes, the most popular car is Trabant with 37,611 units and VAZ 2101 with 33,651 units.
I'm suddenly gripped by nostalgia. Words like škodovka, stopětka, stodvacítka, embéčko spring to mind when I see dry numbers follow the word Škoda.
Here are names of some of the other foreign cars other than the famous Trabant. Wartburg (another from East Germany), Fiat (from Poland), Žigulík, Lada, Moskvič (Soviet Union), Dáčije (Romania). All these are somehow inextricably a part of the culture of a certain era as the many mentions on the Czech internet attest.
