BBC NEWS | UK | Education | Teacher travels in from Prague
A teacher at a Norfolk school has a five-hour commute - from the Czech Republic.

Mary Page teaches just one day a week at a primary school in Thetford and says her commute is better than one she used to do to the school from London.
...
"It's not just for work that I come back, but keeping in touch with the UK. Every week I take back a packet of Sainsbury's ground coffee.

"I will never come back to the UK to live. The quality of life just doesn't compare," she said.

Interesting, I wonder what she means by quality of life? And why on earth would the one thing she buys be coffee? And as somebody's who's just made the same trip, I wonder how she manages it in five hours.

Anyway, it seems she's not the only one. I just heard of group of London-based firefighters who also commute from Prague. But I don't have a first-hand account of that.
