Czech distillers cash in on return of the 'green fairy': absinthe PRAGUE (AFP) - "The tradition of Czech absinthe goes back to the last century, when it was served diluted or set on fire," the waitress tells a group of young drinkers. "After five glasses, the sixth is free." They hesitate between the 70-proof Starorezna Devil or the La Boheme Bitter Spirit, which promises 35 mg/l of thujone -- one of the drink's distinctive ingredients.‹ previous • 74 of 469 • next ›
Absinthe: tourist attraction as well as a popular export item
Author: Dominik Lukeš Posted: August 11th, 2007
There are fewer drinks with more history and less appeal than absinthe. It has been made in the Czech lands for over a hundred years with all its decadence and semi-halucinogenic properties. It has now become a tourist attraction as well as a profitable export business.

This offer "After five glasses, the sixth is free" is really good ^^ I think I would need to stay in the bar for five days and then take my free glass on the sixth day.
So, Czech is not only about beer -!!
Now you take that back! Pilsners, babay! Real Pilsners! Deep golden color and clear, sparkling with a wonderful frothy head. In a beautiful mug!
Those six glasses are a nice session. Anytime. day or night.
