Kdo neví, jak chutná tradiční Pražská šunka od kosti, ať si koupí letenku. Ochutnat ji může v italském Terstu, v Berlíně, ve Spojených státech nebo i v Austrálii. V Česku zatím ne.
You can't actually buy the world famous (famous in the ham-circles at least) Prague Ham made in Prague. Before WWII its reputation was such that Hitler, who was otherwise on a mostly vegetarian diet, is reported to have tried it when he visited the city. But its production was interrupted by the communist government who nationalized its production. Now a Prague restaurateur is planning to resume production.

Then there is ham or gammon - both are called šunka. One type of ham is internationally known as Prague Ham - pražská šunka. It is brine cured, fully cooked and smoked, boneless ham. The other type is šunka od kosti - "ham from the bone", a traditional delicacy which used to be difficult to buy in the communist days.
