Going to a wedding

Hello,

My brother is marrying a czech girl and I will be going to the wedding in the czech republic.

Can anybody tell me of any customs / respectful things that I should know about regarding family etc.

Thanks

Michael

I 'm not going to a wedding but my mom found something that my great grandma got at her wedding and we think it's in czech but i can't translate it on the internet at all. it says

Sfasfi Vam Primesem, saze Vam odnesem!

Thank you,

Samantha

Hi, it is not exactly in Czech, but it is some slavic language. What a czech person would understand is: We will bring you happyness and take the the smut /ashes with us.

I'm not sure how they do things over there, but I come from a Czech family and every Czech wedding I've been to there has been a Grand March.  It's a traditional dance but don't worry, it's pretty much the same thing as follow the leader.  The parents or grandparents will lead the group and its a train of people playing follow the leader.  It's my favorite thing about Czech weddings!
